Gardein Party Gives Back In July 2011, Gardein embarked on a four-city U.S. tour this summer to positively influence Americans’ eating habits by encouraging residents in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and D.C. to go meat-free one day week. At the conclusion of the tour, 6,500 Americans signed up for the Gardein Meat-Free Summer Challenge and pledged to go meatless—in turn raising 6,500 needed meatless entrees for charities in their respective cities.

Beneficiaries of Gardein’s Meat-Free Summer Challenge include: Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children in Atlanta; Pine Street Inn, in Boston; Lakeview Pantry, in Chicago; and Capital Area Food Bank, and Martha’s Table, in DC.

“We’re committed to giving back to the communities where Gardein’s meatless foods are sold,” says Yves Potvin, CEO of Garden Protein International, maker of Gardein. “We feel very good that our deliciously meat-free foods made with plant proteins, vegetables and grains will help nourish those most in need this September.”

Potvin continues, “At Gardein, we believe everyone should have access to healthy nutrient-rich meatless meals, and we’ll continue to make food donations to North American organizations that do good work.”

what we do... so far this year, we've donated enough. food for over 114,000 meals. In 2009 we donated over 330,000 meals to 12 different organizations. gardein™ offers donations to organizations which help support the food security of individuals in our Vancouver community. we think that health and planet friendly diet choices should be available to everyone, and our work with these organizations helps us do our part for our neighbors in need. "Hi everyone, CDHC would like to say Thank You so much for the gardein products that were donated to our families and children here in Philadelphia .
