Talk about sweeping people off their meat! Gardein had the pleasure of serving Chelsea Clinton and supporter of Clinton Foundation at the Ambassadors Reception that took place in LA. The crowd got to snack some great gardein foods including our fishless filets & chips, black bean burger sliders and mini tacos while contributing to a great cause!
Chelsea Clinton delivered a moving speech of the Foundation’s work around the world covering issues such as global change, veteran support, farmer’s economic support worldwide, and childhood obesity. Also, she introduced a partner non-profit group, Alliance for Healthy Alternative, a youth group taking charge of their health. In 2012, more than one third of children and adolescents were overweight or obese.
Gardein served a gluten-free designed gourmet menu to a great bunch of celebs that included: Jessica Alba, Emily Deschanel , Kathy Freston, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, Frances Fisher, Gene Bauer (Farm Sanctuary) and many more. “The Crabless Cakes look really good!” commented Ted Danson.
Clinton Foundation Ambassadors are a community of supporters committed to building a better future and transforming the lives of millions of people around the world by providing critical operating and programmatic support for the Foundation’s work year after year.
This special event reminded us all of how important a healthy, plant based diet is for the future as it affects our national safety and economic future!
