veggie sloppy joes
- 1 pckgbeefless ground
- 1 Tbspvegetable oil
- 2 tspMontreal steak seasoning
- 4 tspvegan light brown sugar
- 2/3 cupspanish onion, small diced
- 1/3 cupred bell pepper, small diced
- 2 tsp red wine vinegar
- 2 tspsoy sauce
- 1 1/3 cupstomato sauce
- 4 tsptomato paste
- 4potato rolls
preparationHeat the vegetable oil in a pot.
Add the onions and peppers and saute for 5-7 minutes until soft.
Add the Gardein crumbles, brown sugar and steak seasoning and cook for 2-3 minutes longer. Deglaze the pan with the vinegar and soy sauce, making sure to scrape all of the bits off the bottom of the pan.
Add the tomato sauce and the tomato paste and mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce the flame and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Plate a cup of the sloppy joe mix on each roll to serve.
