Make the most of this Labor Day weekend with a warm weather barbecue, a picnic at the beach, a hike in the woods or a 2 day road trip! Fill up the cooler and head out of the house before the September routine kicks in. All you need is your portable gas cooktop to make our irresistible mandarin chick’n with some sautéed broccoli and mushrooms. Pack along some cut watermelon, decadent chocolate cookies and refreshing summer drinks. Enjoy every minute of these last lazy days of summer.
Remember to keep your food chillin’ with these easy tips:
• Frozen berries and fruits are the ideal refreshing dessert and they’ll keep your picnic cool, simply get them out of the freezer and allow them to defrost on the way to your picnic spot. (Partially frozen water bottles work as well.)
• To preserve any cooler chill, you’re best off packing items in the order that you plan to use them. For instance, if you’re having a chilled dessert, be sure to put that in first and take it out last!
• Try not to put your cooler in the trunk as that is the hotted part of the car.
• Cooler should be about 25% ice and 75% food. A full cooler will also stay colder longer than a partially full one.
